Red Hawk was opened to the public last year in an elaborate ceremony that included a celebrity foursome for the Official Grand Opening of the course. The foursome included Nevada Governor Bob Miller; course designer Robert Trent Jones, Jr.; Joe Black, former PGA Tour Player, former head of the Ryder Cup and president of Western Golf Properties, the management company for the course; and David Loeb, owner of Wingfield Springs and Chairman of Countrywide Credit Industries.

Red Hawk is unique among golf courses available to the public because it features "Private Golf Club-Level Service" including complimentary valet parking, impeccable course maintenance, and state-of-the-art playing surfaces featuring meticulously manicured bluegrass hybrid fairways and Penn A-4 bent grass greens (chosen the best putting surface in golf). Penn A-4 provides Red Hawk Golf Club visitors with a virtually grainless green which means balls hold truer to their line rather than breaking off too quickly on undulating greens, especially if the ball's not hit hard enough, or if it's hit too hard. Red Hawk Golf Club also features Northern Nevada's first true Golf Learning Center and Golf School; an unequaled practice facility with multi-tiered practice stations, sand and grass bunker practice areas, putting greens and target greens in the range. The Golf Learning Center building includes its own Golf Shop with a full complement of men's and women's golf attire, golf footwear and golf equipment (clubs, club fitting, golf paraphernalia). Red Hawk's PGA professional staff also offers complete golf instruction for individuals, groups, corporate groups, women's and junior's.

Springs Course

The project's centerpiece - Red Hawk's Spring's Course - is an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Red Hawk offers several features unique to public, daily fee golf in Northern Nevada:

• As a first-class golf club, open to the public, Red Hawk is staffed by PGA Professionals who are dedicated to the traditions of the game of golf and committed to providing the best possible golf experience.
• Red Hawk features complimentary valet parking, so all guests have to do is drive to the bag drop area, and an attendant will remove the guest's clubs, place them on a golf car and then park their automobile. The guest simply checks in at the golf shop, proceeds to the fully loaded golf car and continues on to a superb round of golf.
• Red Hawk golf cars are equipped with hand-held yardage measuring devices that give the golfer yardage information and assist with proper club selection from anywhere on the course. Also on the car are club cleaner and ball washer for the golfer's convenience.
• Perhaps most importantly, the Red Hawk course is meticulously maintained, and golfers marvel at the conditioning, playability and aesthetics of this championship golf course.

The Lakes Nine features holes that wrap around the two large existing lakes and wetlands at Wingfield Springs. This nine hole layout features several exceptional holes, including a spectacular par three that challenges players to make tee shots from the east side of the lake to a multi-tiered green on the west side of the lake. (And nesting in a tree directly above the hole, the red-tailed hawk that became the inspiration for the course's name, makes sure each golfer makes the right club selection.)

The Lakes Nine plays 3425 yards from the back tees and 2520 yards from the forward tees.

The Springs Nine, integrated into several natural springs within the community, plays 3640 yards from the back tees and 2650 yards from the forward tees.

The Hills Course

Here's how to book through Western Discovery...
We have preferred tee times at most courses. However, at some, tee-times can be confirmed only seven (7) days in advance for individuals. We can book your rooms and give you tentative t-times further out. The VIP packages at Red Hawk allows us to book individuals as much as 90 days out.

Depending on the golf course, for 12-20+ players tee-times can be booked as much as one year in advance.
